Plugged the printer in to check devices to see if printer connected
Question: I had a little bit of difficulty installing the printer. I plugged the printer in and powered it on. When I went to my devices to see if the scanners were connecting, I saw it on my printer list. It looks like it downloaded itself. Should that have happened?
Answer: Typically, on newer Windows workstations, the printer driver will auto ‘magically’
install.
- At this point, you may only need to go to the FILE Text tab in the GigaTrak PC application and Assign the Printer. This is done from the FILE text tab that is located towards the upper left corner of the application screen:
FILE tab | Printer Assignment | Assign Barcode Printer
Highlight the barcode printer | Select ‘assign label printer’
- Sometimes, once the media and ribbon are installed (or when this is performed subsequently in the future), the Zebra ™ printer may require calibration…… a couple of ways to do this:
– Software… Use the Zebra ™ utility – this can be downloaded from
Zebra’s ™ website
– Manually…. Reference page 85 of the Zebra Manual ‘TLP2824 Plus User Guide’
that can also to be downloaded from the Zebra ™ website. Supplementary
support guides for the printer and calibration are also available on the GigaTrak
website in our Client Center.
