Audit – vs – Count Function on TTS ATS Handheld Terminal
Question: The “Count” Function is primarily for taking inventory of binned or quantity items.
Answer: The ‘Audit’ Function is strictly for the purpose of ‘auditing’. There are a couple of options for Audits:
–Audit a person or place (checkout/usage/assignment location)
The audit function pulls up a list of items that have been checked out (AKA, assigned) to a person or a place, with the exception of ‘binned’ or quantity items. You then go to that person or place and scan all items found.
– Audit a storage location
Auditing a storage location will provide a listing of all items located at that storage location, with theexception of ‘binned’ or quantity items. Inventory of ‘binned’ or quantity items in storage locations are conducted with the “Count” function on the handheld terminal.
– IF the product is TTS (Tool Tracking) … Audit a container
Auditing a container will provide a listing of all items assigned to that container, with the exception of ‘binned’ or quantity items. Inventory of ‘binned’ or quantity items in storage locations are conducted with the “Count” function on the handheld terminal.
Any items remaining on the audit list (items not found) are considered missing and will need to be reconciled with the system database.
Additional ‘extra’ items found will be reassigned to that person, place, or container at which they were currently located – once the database and handheld transactions are merged.
