Adding tools / equipment / items / assets in TTS
Question: What is the best way to ‘Add’ Tools or equipment into the Tool Tracking application? I thought we could add them with the handheld terminal, but when I try to scan the barcode on the tool, it comes back as ‘unknown’.
Answer: TTS provides 5 options for adding tools to the system:
- Import the items via spreadsheet format
- Add items directly from the Tool Information function, using the “Add” button
- Copy existing items and making simple modifications
- Use the Master / Catalog / Template feature
- Use the ‘Add Tool’ function on the mobile, handheld terminal TTS application
