Update Existing ATS database files

Question: We imported our asset data, but we didn’t have all the information to fill in all the data in the beginning. How do we update the existing ATS files without having to manually Edit each and every one of them?

Answer: An easier approach to manual updates would be to utilize the IMPORT
UPDATE Function located under the File text tab in ATS.

To UPDATE existing asset/equipment data in the ATS database:

                First, Export the existing Asset Data:

                          From the ATS application screen…….
SELECT the FILE Text Tab
                                SELECT ‘Update Asset Data Export/Import’
                                SELECT ‘Export Current Asset Data for Update’
                                                   This will export the current asset database information to a *.txt file
                                                   OPEN the *.txt file in Excel 
   SAVE it in Excel format
(this makes the columns and data easier to read)

Second, From Excel, Make any updates or changes to the file records
SAVE updated file as a *.txt  in a directory on your PC

               Last, IMPORT the updated file:
From the ATS application screen…….
SELECT the FILE Text Tab
                                SELECT ‘Update Asset Data Export/Import’
                                SELECT ‘Find File’…… find the file you just updated (*.txt format)
                                SELECT ‘Import File’
